Aston Villa vs Arsenal Prediction: Gunners take aim

Great start to the season for both Aston Villa and Arsenal. Both teams picked up maximum points on opening day and Villa did so after being pegged back by West Ham through a Paqueta penalty. Unai Emery will look forward to facing his former side especially considering he hasn't lost to them since February of 2022.

Unai Emery will be expected to replace Matty Cash who picked up a knock in the last ten minutes against West Ham. Kosta Nedeljkovic is expected to start in his place. Besides that change, we may see a debut for Ross Barkley this weekend.

Mikel Arteta is expected field the same side he did against Wolves last week, without Rice who picked up a knock in the last ten minutes of that game. Arteta can look to Jorginho to come into his place or start with a front two of Jesus and Haverts in a 4-4-2 formation.

They have finished with above 80 points for the past two season, being eclipsed by Manchester City on both occasions who went on to win the league title finishing above Arsenal on both occasions. He faces a big test against this Aston Villa side. Mikel has struggled against Unai Emery in the past, they have met five times, and Mikel Arteta has one win, one draw and three losses against Emery.
