The State Farm Stadium in Arizona will host the Copa America quarter-final between Colombia and Panama as these two teams tussle for a place in the final four. The winner of this one will take on Uruguay or Brazil for a place in the final itself, with Panama writing the story of the tournament so far.

Below you can find my Colombia vs Panama prediction, featuring team news and match odds.

Colombia vs Panama Betting Tips

  • BTTS Yes @ 40/31
  • Colombia to score 2 or 3 goals @ 77/100

Team News

Crystal Palace midfielder Jeffereson Lerma is going to miss this one through suspension, so expect Mateus Uribe to come into a three-man midfield. Jhon Lucumi is still a doubt after being injured in the opening group game while Jhon Cordoba is set to continue up top ahead of Jhon Duran.

Panama’s Adalberto Carrasquilla has been suspended for two matches after a late challenge on Christian Pulisic so he will miss this one. Meanwhile, Roderick Miller could come back into contention here in place of Carlos Harvey, with Cesar Blackman also expected to start out wide.Colombia predicted starting XI:
Vargas; Munoz, Sanchez, Cuesta, Mojica; Rios, Uribe, Arias; Rodriguez, Cordoba, Diaz

Panama predicted starting XI:
Mosquera; Murillo, Farina, Cordoba, Harvey, Davies; Blackman, Martinez, Welch, Barcenas; Fajardo

Colombia vs Panama Odds

Colombia are priced at 3/10 to win this one, with Panama the outsiders at 42/5. A draw can be selected at 39/10, BTTS is 40/31 and over 2.5 goals is 79/100.

BTTS Yes @ 40/31

I think Colombia will win this game, but the odds are not appealing for them to do so. Instead, I think we are getting good value on BTTS, based on what we have seen so far. Both teams have scored in every Panama match so far this tournament, with results of 3-1, 3-1 and 2-1 in the group stage.

Panama secured one of the best results in their history as they beat USA in the group stage, while they then went on to down Bolivia to secure six points and a second-place finish. Meanwhile, Colombia scored five goals in the first two games, and then got a draw against Brazil, so they should also find the net.

Colombia to score 2 or 3 goals @ 77/100

Nestor Lorenzo has had a brilliant spell as Colombia manager since he came in two years ago. He’s now won 17 and drawn six of his 23 matches in all competitions and maintained a remarkable unbeaten run that has taken them up to 12th in the FIFA world rankings.

They’ve also reached the semi-finals in two of the last three editions of this competition, and are massive favouites to win this game. They last played Panama in June 2019 when they secured a 3-0 win, and I can see them scoring two or three goals again here. They should win an entertaining clash in Arizona.
