England vs Slovenia Prediction: Kane can respond to critics in style
England come into their final Group C clash with Slovenia with something to prove. After tepid displays against Serbia and Denmark, they sit on four points and top of the group, but performances have not filled fans of the Three Lions with confidence heading into the knockout stages.
Slovenia are their final group stage opponent, and topping the group is a must for Gareth Southgate’s men, whose side will want to instil some confidence back into the nation with a top performance. Below you can find my England vs Slovenia prediction featuring team news and betting tips.

Southgate is set to make changes to his England team after a lack of cohesion and energy cost them all three points against Denmark. They took the lead through a Harry Kane goal, but sat back and conceded, before clinging on to a point in Group C. Expect Conor Gallagher to come into the midfield for Trent Alexander-Arnold, as that particular experiment comes to an end, while Anthony Gordon could be brought in for Phil Foden to add some natural balance to that left-hand side.
After two decent performances, Slovenia are likely to name the same XI for the third match in a row. They have drawn two from two so far, and were only denied all three points against Serbia after conceding a last-minute equaliser.

Now, no game involving these two teams so far has seen more than 2.5 goals. So this selection may be a bit of a left-field one. However, England are going to make key changes in attacking areas, and I think it will breathe new life into the team. I’m choosing to remain positive from an England point of view, but we’ve also seen that Slovenia can be a dangerous outfit in this group.
They’ve scored in both games they have played so far, with Benjamin Sesko proving to be a difficult threat to contain. I think we will get goals in this one. Hopefully the England boys cansilence their doubters.

Kane has hit back at criticism of himself, his manager and his team, and having scored the opening goal against Denmark, will be desperate to prove himself again. He is certain to start, despite calls in some quarters for Ollie Watkins, and in my eyes there is only one way to silence the doubters. To find the net.
Kane has a habit of doing exactly that, and I think he will be able to do so again here. Slovenia are yet to keep a clean sheet and Kane should be able to take full advantage. Expect him to put his finger to his lips in response to the over the top criticism if he does score.
