There is not much to split these two teams ahead of kick off on Saturday the 18th of May 2024. However, one thing is for sure. Whichever one of these two teams walks away victorious on Saturday will definitely be occupying 8th spot as we head into the final weekend of the DSTV Premiership.

3 Way - Polokwane City 16/5

I know what you are thinking. Why does Mo, have no faith in Kaizer Chiefs qualifying for the top 8 of this season DSTV Premiership. We can spend a life time going through all the reasons that make Kaizer Chiefs vulnerable to a loss in the match against Polokwane City. which would subsequently lead to them failing to qualify for the top 8. However, the main reason has to be that they are not finding the back of the net at the moment. Even when you look at individual players up front. There is really not much to be excited about. Ashley Du Preez has made 22 appearances and only scored 4 goals, while Pule Mode has made 26 appearances and only managed 4 goals the entire season. There is really no goal threats coming from the Kaizer Chiefs camp.

For Polokwane City, it has been a tale of two seasons. The first half of the season was a turbulent time for the club as they slipped up and down the table. Reaching a high of 4th in the league on match day three and a low of 12th in the league on match day 14. They managed to maintain 10th position for a long stint in the second half of the season until they climbed up to 9th.  Draws have played a big part in Polokwane City's seasons so far. They have registered the second most amount of draws with 11, just one behind Amazulu who have played out to 12 draws this season.

Neither side has dominated this fixture the past, with both sides having registered a win in their last three meetings. However, Kaizer Chiefs won the reverse fixture by one goal to nil. More importantly, that result came in 2023, and like I said at the beginning of this article. Kaizer Chiefs have struggled since the turn of this year. That is apparent when you look at the clubs individual form. Kaizer Chiefs, have no wins in their last three matches and only one win in their last 9 matches. Polokwane City have no losses in their last three matches and two wins in their last 9 matches. It may be underwhelming to read those statistics but that is all that both teams could produce in recent matches.

1st Half - Even 31/50

Of all the goals scored at Soccer City this season in this competition. 17 of the 29 goals scored at the stadium have come in the second half of matches. That is 59% and when Kaizer Chiefs has conceded goals at home, they have mostly come in the second half after the 75th minute. With no goals conceded in the first 30 minutes of matches this season. This leads me to think that the first half will be muted with the second half being what we all think this match to be.
