Al Ahly vs Esperance Predictions: Tunis will be crowned champions

The fight to be crowned African champions continues in Egypt when Al Ahly welcomes, Esperance Tunis. The first leg ended in a goalless stalemate, and both sides showed their depth and quality when they took to the pitch in Tunisia. The first leg is done and dusted now and the second leg is the last chance for either one of these sides to take home, this iconic trophy.

Another upset on the cards in my predictions for this weekend. The reason behind this upset is simple, the last times these two teams met at this stage, the Tunisians walked away champions. However, this time around it will be a big ask of them to away from home and return with he title, especially considering that the record champions of Africa are in good form ahead of kick off on Saturday. No losses in their last seven matches, has seen Al Ahly dominating in all competitions at the moment. In addition to that, they have enjoyed five straight clean sheets against this opponent in recent meetings.

Esperance Tunis dominated position in the first leg, enjoying 53% of the ball and creating two big chances over the 90 minutes. Both Teams had ten shots at goal and nine goal kicks each. It was obvious to see that Al Ahly were struggling in the first leg against an energised Esperance, they committed 19 fouls, made 16 tackles and picked up two yellow cards.

This fixture hasn't been kind to Esperance in the past. They have met 15 times since 2012 and Esperance has only one of those meetings. The match they won was the CAF Champions League second leg. I see history repeating itself for sure. It won't be a win by three goals like their previous final second leg, however, I think one goal will be enough to decide this tie in favour of the away side.
