UEFA Champions League Outright Prediction: Who we think will take the gold home

UEFA Champions League action returns on the 13th of February 2024. The current world champions Manchester city are odds on favourites to win the competition again. However, Europe’s elite clubs are still in the competition, and they too will be looking to take the big eared trophy home. 

Here are markets to consider adding to your bet slip...

Outright Winner – Bayern Munich 4/1 

Bayern Munich may appear to be an odd choice. Especially with their domestic form not being complimented with a first-place position in the Bundesliga. However, in this season’s champion’s they have been performing well. They finished top of their group with five wins and one draw. a near perfect record that is also enhanced by the fact that they had Copenhagen, Galatasaray and Manchester United in their group. It is not a group of death, but all the teams in Group A are seasons UEFA Champions League Campaigners. Bayern Faces Lazio next, a test I doubt they will fail. 

Outright Winner – Manchester City 19/10

The reigning world champions are a force to be reckoned with, they sit second in the premier league behind Liverpool. The start of 2024 has marked the return of creative play maker Kevin De Bruyne. Who announced his return to the premier league with a goal and an assist. There is no telling how he will affect the game that city has against Copenhagen in a few weeks, but chances are his impact will be felt. For a team that has missed key players like De Bruyne, Rodri and Haaland. They had a fantastic group stage campaign winning all six of their games. scoring 18 goals and conceding 7. They are the team that everybody loves to hate but they are still odds-on favorites to life the trophy at 19/10. If they continue their momentum into the knockout phases. They will be a hard team to stop. 

Outright Winner – Real Madrid 11/2 

Don Carlo’s Real Madrid are still in it to win it. After the perfect group campaign winning six out of six and scoring 16 goals. Los Blanco’s have made it clear to everyone in the competition that they are still the kings of the Champions League. They have the most trophies as everyone knows but they still play with the hunger of a team that has not lifted the trophy before. To make matters worse, they are a completely different beast, with the departure of Benzema and the arrival of Jude Bellingham from Dortmund. We have seen the return of Don Carlo’s Diamond Midfield to Europe’s topflight. I want to end this by saying no matter the season, or the form that Real Madrid is in, you can never write them off. 

Top Goal Scorer - Erling Haaland 1/1

Jude Bellingham, like Erling Haaland, only played 5 matches in the group stages. In that time, he managed one goal less than Haaland with four to his name and three assists. He is an intelligent player, playing in a system that favors his brand of football. He is one player I believe could easily walk away with the golden boot if Real Madrid are to go all the way in this season’s competition. The odds-on him doing so are sitting at 14/1
