Manchester United vs Tottenham Prediction: It’s a red revolution

The Red Devils are nowhere close to where they are expected to be. However, they are exactly where they were last season. After Match day 5 last season, they were sitting 12th in the league. This season they are sitting in 11th, one position higher but not enough to convince the fans that they are going in the right direction.

Erik Ten Hag is still without summer signing Leny Yoro who is nursing a foot injury. He will also be without Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Tyrell Malacia. The return of Rasmus Hojlund has boosted Ten Hags attacking options and he will look to make him feature a lot more in the match against Tottenham. Since returning from Injury, Rasmus has not started for United, with Zirkzee occupying that number 9 role.

Reports have stated that Ange Postecoglou is expected to make some wholesale changes to his team ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Sunday. In defence Micky van de Ven is the only player expected to keep his spot.

The midfield will see a set of well rested players return to the starting line up, with Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur coming in to replace the midweek midfield trio of Bergvall, Sarr and Bissouma. The forward line will also see Son and Solanke get more minutes. Richalison is still out injured and will not be available for this match.

United are on a run of two draws in a row, culminating in four matches without a loss. They have had some lows, and highs this season with inconsistent results. For example, they managed a 7-0 win in the EFL Cup and drew their next game against Crystal Palace 0-0. They hot one day and cold the next. They sitting in the bottom half of the table, a fact that they fans are not too happy about. Something will need to change if Erik Ten Hag is going to win the United Faithful back.

Against Brentford, Son was the stand out performer, creating two goals and playing a vital part in Spurs final phase. Something is going right for Ange and he will be hoping his boys can carry this winning form into Sunday's clash.

It is important to note, that Spurs has no losses against Manchester United in their last three meetings. The last time United won in this fixture was in October of 2022. However, at Old Trafford Manchester United has won 3 out of their last five matches against spurs. This match will go to the wire and the winner will come from a moment of brilliance, if not I expect this clash to end in a draw.
