Mo Salah and Luis Diaz sealed a Liverpool win at Old Trafford last time out and Everton vs Bournemouth was a 5 goal thriller that saw bournemouth edge that result with a late goal. Match day four is on the horizon and this is what we have to look forward to.

Martin Ødegaard is injured, and Arsenal will be forced to make it work with out their Norwegian Tellies man. While that is bad news for Arsenal, they can look forward to Raheem Sterlings debut for the gunners. He is expected to feature in match day four. He is not the only summer signing expected to make his debut in match day four. Jason Sancho who is on loan at Chelsea will be hoping to make his first Premier League Appearance since August 2023 this weekend. Sticking with movement around Arsenal, former Arsenal frontman Eddie Nketiah will be making his debut for Crystal Palace. Brighton are still to Turkish fullback Ferdi Kadioglu a debut, while Manchester United Fans will be hoping to see Manuel Ugarte in the starting eleven on Saturday.

Liverpool's Italian winger Federico Chiesa didn't join the Italian national team, opting to stay at Melwood and work with the Liverpool's coaches to prepare for his highly anticipated debut. They will be playing Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.

Top 4

It is still early days, however, the odds on favourites to win the league Manchester City. Are leading the way with 9 points on the board and a goal difference of +7. Liverpool are in hot pursuit with 9 points themselves and a goal difference of +7. Brighton, Arenal and Newcastle united are all sitting 7 points after three matches wrapping up the top 4 after match day 3.

Relegation

Southampton and Everton have no points on the board, with Everton, conceding 10 goals and scoring just 2. Their goal difference is -8, seeding them at the foot of the table. Southampton have conceded 5 goals and have only scored 1. they sit in 19th above Everton. Four teams sit above Southampton and Everton with 1 point each. Those teams are Wolves, Ipswich, Crystal Palace and Leicester City. It is still early days but the fight for survival has definitely begun.

Match of the Round

Sunday - 15/09/2024 Tottenham Hotspurs vs Arsenal

Arsenal have had a turbulent start to their campaign. After securing back to back wins in match day 1 and 2. they conceded their first goal of the season against Brighton and unfortunately for them they got their first red card of the season when Declan Rice was sent off. Jurrien Timber went off injured, he was one of three players who went off injured in that match with, James Milner and Joel Veltman also going off injured in that match. Their Havertz strike in the 38th minute was levelled by Pedro in the 58th minute when he equalised for the seagulls.

Arteta has also suffered post their match against the Seagulls. Martin Ødegaard appeared to twist his left Ankle midway through the second half of Norway's 2-1 victory against Austria in the UEFA Nations League. Norwegian Head Coach said: "It looked bad in the changing room. He had no chance of continuing". Richard Calafiori will be assessed after he suffered a cal injury in Italy's win over France. Gabriel Jesus has missed the last two match weeks with a groin injury. With a champions league tie and Manchester City next week. Mikel Arteta is in for a rough couple of weeks.

Ange Postecoglou has had a rocky start to the season. His team has been far from consistent. They were held to a draw on match day one, away to Leicester City, and they bounced back in spectacular fashion when they put four past Everton to win at home against the Merseyside club. Newcastle United was another disappointing match for Tottenham Hotspurs, as they walked away with no points and a horrible performance. They Conceded two goals and failed to find the back of the net, with their only goal coming through a Dan Burn own goal.

Spurs have not managed to secure a win against Arsenal at home in their last two attempts. Arsenal are now on four matches without a loss against Tottenham.  The last time Tottenham were victorious against Arsenal was in October of 2022, when Tottenham won by 3-0 at home. The fact that Arsenal will be without their Norwegian playmaker, plus the other injuries they have. This time Ange and his men may walk away with a result in this match. Whichever way, expect fireworks.
