Slovakia vs Romania Prediction: Romania big price to win Group E
Group E at Euro 2024 is going to have the most intriguing finale as all four teams are currently tied on three points apiece. Romania are currently in pole position thanks to their massive 3-0 win over Ukraine on the opening day, and they can secure their place in the last 16 with a win over Slovakia on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Slovakia have given themselves a chance at qualification after they beat Belgium 1-0 in the opening game. However, for these teams, a point may not be enough and there is a chance that one of these teams exits with four points to their name. Due to the strange 24-team set-up of these Euros, a third-place team from another group with just two points may qualify!

Team News
Francesco Calzona has named the same XI in every Slovakia match so far, so expect him to name an unchanged line-up after two decent performances. Martin Dubravka, Milan Skriniar and Robert Bozenik will provide the spine of the team while Ondrej Duda will try and provide the spark from midfield.
Meanwhile, Romania brought Valentin Mihaila into the team in place of Florinel Coman last time out, but they were facing Belgium so Edward Iordănescu may revert back to his original XI. Ianis Hagi is pushing for a start having come off the bench while Radu Dragusin will hope to continue his impressive form at the heart of the defence.

This is likely to be a tight affair and to be truthful, there isn’t a whole lot of attacking quality on show from either side. Having said that, Slovakia have scored in both of their group matches so far, and Romania scored three against Ukraine - but they both looked poor in the second round of group games.
I don’t think Slovakia will offer much of an attacking threat here, and I believe both of these teams may play within themselves, in the hope that there will be a winner in the other match. I think we will see a clean sheet from one of these teams, in a hard-fought match.
Romania to win @ 27/10
I think the value in this one certainly lies with Romania. They were so impressive against Ukraine and that has given them a real leg up here, while I also believe that Slovakia are the weakest team in this group. They were incredibly fortunate to beat Belgium as Romelu Lukaku had two goals disallowed, and then they threw away a one-goal lead against Ukraine.
I think Romania will have enough to beat them, and would happily back them at a far shorter price than they currently are. I think they can win this game to nil and secure their safe passage into the last 16. They will likely win the group if they secure a decent win here.
