Ukraine vs Belgium Prediction: Goals galore in Group E finale
Group E of Euro 2024 looks to be an absolute sizzler. As we approach Wednesday night, all four teams are on three points apiece, which makes the final round of group games absolutely vital with all four teams in with a chance of topping the group, or finishing bottom and going out at the first hurdle.
It should be an enthralling encounter and the two highest-ranked teams, according to FIFA, in this group, meet in Stuttgart. Below you can find my Ukraine vs Belgium Betting Tips.
Team News
Vitaliy Mykolonko was back in the squad against Slovakia and could return to the starting XI here, which would allow Oleksandr Zinchenko to move into his preferred central midfield role. He is far more effective in that position, while they have a couple of players walking a tightrope. Yukhym Konoplya and goalscorer Roman Yaremchuk are both on yellows and will miss the last 16 game if they pick up another one here. Anatoliy Trubin is set to start again in goal after a solid performance against Slovakia, leaving Andriy Lunin on the bench.
Thomas Meunier and Axel Witsel are still not fit for Belgium, and now Dodi Lukebakio is suspended having picked up two bookings. Expect Leandro Trossard to come back into the starting XI, and Arthur Theate is set to be fit, despite suffering from a thigh injury in their last outing.
Ukraine predicted starting XI:
Trubin; Tymchyk, Zabarnyi, Matvienko, Mykolenko; Sudakov, Zinchenko, Shaparenko; Yarmolenko, Dovbyk, Mudryk
Belgium predicted starting XI:
Casteels; Castagne, Faes, Vertonghen, Theate; Tielemans, Onana; Doku, De Bruyne, Trossard; Lukaku
Ukraine are priced at 19/5 to win this game, with Belgium available at 13/20. A draw can be backed at 16/5, BTTS is 19/25 and over 2.5 goals is available at 71/100.
BTTS Yes @ 19/25
This should be an absolute belter of a game. Both teams have to go all out for the win, with Ukraine in particular needing all three points due to their poor goal difference. They currently sit bottom of Group E having been beaten 3-0 by Romania, while Belgium currently occupy second place, but have their sights set on top spot.
The group winner will be handed an easier draw in the round of 16, so all four teams will be striving for the win. However, in this particular game, all of the talent lies in attacking. Belgium boast Jeremy Doku, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku among others, while Mykailho Mudryk and Artem Dovbyk are forces to be reckoned with from a Ukrainian point of view. This game should feature goals.
Romelu Lukaku to score anytime @ 99/100
The unluckiest man at this year’s Euros? Without a doubt it is Romelu Lukaku. The big Belgian striker has scored three goals so far, and had every single one of them ruled out for offside by VAR. The thing is, his finishing has been fairly good, and he has constantly looked like a threat, so I’m more than happy to back him to find the net again - only this time it needs to stand.
With the supply lines behind him controlled by De Bruyne, Lukaku is going to get plenty more chances and he is going to play a key role in Belgium’s progression in this tournament. I can’t call the result on this one, but I’m happy to back Lukaku to find the net.
