Argentina are the number one ranked international team in world football, and now they are one win away from winning three international tournaments in a row. They face an in-form Colombia team in the early hours of Monday morning for South America’s biggest prize. Will Lionel Messi star in another final? Below you can find my Argentina vs Colombia Prediction.

Argentina vs Colombia Betting Tips

  • Argentina to win @ 46/43
  • Lionel Messi to score first @ 22/5

Team News

Julian Alvarez was brought back into the starting XI by Lionel Scaloni in the semi-final, and his goal should see him start this final alongside Messi. It means Lautaro Martinez will have to settle for a place on the bench, while Alexis Mac Allister is likely to start on the left of midfield.

Daniel Munoz will miss this one for Colombia after he was shown a red card in a hotly-tempered affair with Uruguay, with Santiago Arias set to deputise at right-back. James Rodriguez will start and captain the side, in a fluid front three alongside Luis Diaz and John Cordoba.

Argentina vs Colombia Odds

Argentina are priced at 46/43 to win this game in 90 minutes, while Colombia are available at 31/10. A draw can be backed at 37/20, over 2.5 goals is 7/4 and BTTS is 63/50.

Argentina to win @ 46/43

Argentina are looking to secure back-to-back Copa America titles after their success in 2021. That was done in front of just 7,000 fans due to Covid-19 regulations, but this time around a full house will welcome them to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

I’m more than happy to back them to win a 16th title here, even though Colombia are bang in form. They’ve not lost in their last 28 matches and there’s no doubt they are going to push Argentina all the way here, but they simply aren’t used to these big finals. Scaloni has turned his side into a tournament-savvy one, and for that reason, I’m backing them to lift another trophy.

Lionel Messi to score first @ 22/5

It’s just made for Messi to turn up here, in his new home of Miami. The Argentine captain is basically just living for these international tournaments now, and don’t be surprised if he pushes to make the 2026 World Cup as well. A weight has been lifted from his shoulders and now he is simply enjoying himself.

He’s won it all, but wins with Argentina still feel very special for Messi. With Alvarez starting up front with him, he should find some space, and it feels like the big stage is simply made for Messi. I’m happy to back him to score first.
